The injuries to two key players for LB could've been the difference though. I agree with the poster who said constantly pound it inside against LB. It will be the achilles heel for one more season.

If tj and phelps are playing out of position at center then thats where you are the weakest and can be exploited. If TJ ever gets in foul trouble or is out for any amount of time LBS will be in bad shape. LBS has a soon to be great team - but they are still too young and too small. That problem will be exploited in their very tough OOC schedule. Now on to UCD. I read where Payne (who is now pegged as their best outside shooter) never attempted a perimeter shot in their game. They too had a problem in the paint but against poor competition. UOP poolsters say they have no one who can shoot it from the perimeter. UCSB & UCR look to be rounding into form, so they may upset early in OOC games.

Member Posts: 541 11/08/09 1:45 PM	I don't know--UNLV is loaded, even if they have had a high turnover of players. If LBSU was more aggressive on the boards than UNLV, that could be trouble for the rest of the BW. A cynic is someone who knows the price of everything, and the value of nothing.

Member Posts: 542 11/09/09 1:16 AM	They have plenty of former 3 and 4 star recruits like Jasper from Kentucky, Stanback from UCLA, Thomas from KU, and Willis from Memphis. Shaw was a stud at Fairfax High--they have others I don't know off the top of my head. These were all recruits who were too big for the Big West, and haven't lived up to their potential--yet. Their freshman class is good too. A cynic is someone who knows the price of everything, and the value of nothing.

Not sure what UNLV qualifies as anymore, but they are more high-major than mid-major. Kentucky is definitely high-major and he started for them before getting injured.
