I got called de-lusional over and over again by Titanczar when I said we would compete for the title last year. He said our incoming class was OVERRATED and UNPROVEN and OVERHYPED. LB came one lucky shot from the opposition (with no time left on the clock) short. Whose de-lusional now? I hope the coaches pick us to finish eight again. That was hilarious. This is the most brutal non con schedule in Big West history.... PERIOD!

Hopefully, other schools in the Big West will follow our lead. We all need to continue to step it up and quit scheduling Hope Int. and the Banana Slugs etc. I think this schedule is the first step in putting pressure on the other coaches in the BW to step it up, especially if we can be competitive.

I really don't have a problem with dodgerdarin running his mouth right now. Everyone is undefeated at this point so why not show some confidence in your squad. Upon reading his declarations that Long Beach is the flagship, I can't help but think about some excited Pacific fans who declared the same thing after 3 years in the NCAA and then the team came in 7th place. Now the situations aren't really comparable because Long Beach has a better team than Pacific did at that time, but I'm just a little wary of making those types of declarations. But if dodgerdarin wants to put himself out there and make them, more power to him. No guts, no glory I say.

Sure, it's everyone's right to pop off, but don't expect an audience. .500 for one season doesn't qualify for flagship by any definition, except the to the delusional. A decade of consistent championships and near-championships? Yes--see Gonzaga.

You already pointed out the biggest difference between UOP and de-lusional LB fans. UOP actually accomplished something.

DD is betting on the come or future expectations. Monson certainly is out in front when it comes to men's basketball. In two years he stocked the shelves and turned us into contenders. However, I prefer to wait and see what transpires before proclaiming any school as a flagship. If we have to have a flagship, I prefer it be LSBU, but the reality is no university can be the all to end all.

Not bragging about the schedule, I basically said I was stoked that Dan has scheduled this and wished other schools could maybe "step up" their scheduling too for the better of the BW as a whole. But, since your coach who schedules "Father Flanagan's" Best, or "The Halfway House Gang" (even though they get free methadone) Will hurt the BW as a whole. You can't say this helps TC.

Don't say anything negative about LB, just answer this question in a calm, cool and rational way, that's all we want. Do you think CSF's basketball schedule hurts the BW as a whole?

Ask me anything about LB and I will respond in a cool, calm and rational way. It's that simple.

Again, the "Flagship" name was created to go out on a limb last year because I didn't think LB was getting their respect, when I thought we should. It won't be as fun now knowing we will be the favorites. But, I guarantee you one thing,.... LBSU did not get nay respect last year before the seaosn started but by the commnets I have seen we are getting it now. I think everyone is using the literal interpretation of a flagship - the main boat that carries the flag. We were good last year and excedded the opponents expectations. All I can say you are clarivoyant - you knew we would be good before it happened. I hope your clairvoyance continues this year all the way deep into the torunament. But it has to happen before you can assume the name.

Let's face it TC is a Beach Hater. He'll use every word and trick to show us up, but if your vision is correct, he will be the delusional one. CSF is a one-trick pony, but they picked the wrong pony to do their tricks - baseball. There is no money if you win anything. Their problem, not ours. If you dance and the longer you dance, you get the lion's share of the money. Unfortuantely there are 6 other BWC members like CSF it the conference. The longer they stay that way the better for us, we'll only have to battle 2 others to be top dog. Their problem, not ours.

I want us to be the flagship in men's basketball, but we have to battle the other 2 to get the prize. I hope your vision is correct and we dominate the conference again. (Note- UCSB was not in the conference during Tark's run.)

BTW, to other LB fans, I've given LBSU props, predicting they would be contenders the year they won it, and guessing they would be contenders or sleepers almost every year since. They're clearly more athletic than most BW teams, even tho they may not win all of them. But flagship? Like I said, a decade, maybe even only 5 years of dominance, and we'll talk.
