Some info from Cal Poly's 2008/2009 Media Guide
- 8th year, George Fox College, '85 Bob Lowe begins his eighth year on head coach Kevin
Bromley's staff. Lowe came to the Cal Poly program from the University of Portland. where he was an assistant coach under former coach Rob Chavez.
Lowe's on-court responsibilities include serving as the defensive coordinator
for the team as well as handling the team's conditioning and off-season
workout schedules. Along with his other duties, Lowe handles all the team's travel arrangements. Prior to arriving at Portland, Lowe was an assistant coach
at Southern Utah University from 1992-2000 and New Mexico State from 1989-92. While at Southern Utah, Lowe worked with current Cal Poly coach Kevin Bromley for
three seasons. He served as the team's recruiting coordinator for four seasons and aided coach Bill Evans in coordinating defensive schemes. During his
three-year stint at New Mexico State, the Aggies appeared in three-straight NCAA tournaments, advancing to the Sweet 16 in 1992. Lowe worked with the guards
and coached current NBA players Randy Brown and Reggie Jordan. A 1985 graduate of George Fox University, Lowe served as an assistant coach at the university as
an undergraduate before joining the coaching staff as an assistant at the College of the Desert upon graduation. He later earned his master's degree in
education administration from Cal State San Bernardino in 1994. Married to his wife Kelli, they have a son, Casey.

Sounds like a good addition to the staff, a veteran of the Big West and he upped his program from Cal Poly to CSUN....

28. Here's what the tournament does to you: Before it's over, there will be a team you've never watched, coached by a guy you've never heard of, played by kids you'll never see in the NBA -- yet you'll be on your knees in front of your plasma rooting … begging like an alumnus for it to pull off the upset. -Gene Wojciechowski "33 Reasons to Love Tourney Time" |

Its not his fault he had to deal with a 6'7 center and 6'4 power forward as the defensive coordinator on that team.

The article states New Mexico State had beaten a UNLV squad that had won the National championship the year before. UNLV went 34-0 that year until losing to
damn DUKE in the Final Four.

Yeah, that win on 1/8/90 would have been against the UNLV squad that went on to win the NC that same season.
Anyway, my Gauchos were the last team to defeat the Runnin' Rebels prior to their 45 game winning streak which was ended by Duke.
