What is wrong with SoCal BWC schools? |

You guys (or some of you, anyway) have immediate or near-immediate access to the beach. Yet who won the BWC Beach VB title this year? UOP, that's who.
How the cr@p does that happen? LOL.

I went to the Big West website to find out the scoop, I didn't see Beach Volleyball listed as a sport. Imagine that. Or does "BWC" stand for
something else there?

It will not be a BWC sport until next year (and that is not for certain with budget issues still outstanding) Some schools do have club teams, and some of
those schools held an event last month (players all members of the womens indoor teams)-- There were at least 3 competitions, 2 two person divisions and a 4
person division-- I know UCI won the silver, and was runner up in the gold and runner up in the 4 person-- I have no idea who else competed. I assume from
your post that a UoP pair won the gold division, but not sure at the club level if that equalled a "team" chmapionship

The Manure Pile and LBSU Team Two quit after pool play. Yes, Ir-Whine got second.

tigercasey wrote:Pacific put it on their website. Great. Do you see it on the BWC site? Or anywhere else? You'll also notice that in the title of the tournament (Big West Beach Championships) that the word Conference is missing. I don't think that's a coincidence. I would assume that the name is supposed to make one think about the BWC, and they invited BWC schools... but I don't think it was in any way official. |

Even the UoP Official site does not list "Beach Volleyball" as a NCAA sponsored sport-- The posting merely mentions that a group of members of the
women's (indoor) team participated in an "event" held on the beach- Its looks similar to members of the golf team doing well in an
"outside" event and perhaps finishing better than team members at other schools who played in the same event--
Good performance by a group of individuals? yes, Right to hang a banner or claim a BWC championship? NO |

That was my point. We have no beach, but we beat all you SoCal schools that do.
Of course, we could be cheesy and count Lodi Lake Beach, but that's on the Mokelumne River, which is polluted half the time. LOL.
