Next Year's Team | #1 | ||

I'd rather be under-rated than over-rated. It gives the kids more to prove and work harder. AF is probably just sour because we didn't win our
regional this year. If everyone comes back who is not signed today, I like next year's team more this past one. The return of Sean Madigan will be big.
We should be very solid in all areas and two deep at almost all positions with more power at the plate. Wait until you see Hernandez and Hillman rip balls. I
especially like the pitching. Bibona, Bergman, Slaught and Necke each week should be the best four starters on any D1 team. I can't wait for the season
to start....

Bibona and the Cardinals are still negotiating. Stay tuned......
http://dailypilot.com/dailyblogger/bfaulkner/ **PITCHING FOR GOLD** Meanwhile, UCI pitcher Christian Bergman, who went 9-3 as a junior in 2009 as the Anteaters' Saturday starter, is hurling with the Anchorage Bucs of the Alaska League. Bergman figured he'd be toiling in the minor leagues at this point, but was not drafted, to the surprise of many, including Gillespie. Through Tuesday, Bergman was 0-1 with a 5.14 ERA. He had made two appearances, one start, and thrown seven innings. Bergman is hoping he can impress this summer enough to garner a free-agent contract offer from a major league team. |

when I saw the comments by Gillespie. If we lose both Bibona and Bergman, we may not be as good as I was thinking. I wish them both well, but, for my selfish interest, I would love to see them back for their senior years.
Aaron Fitt may have had some more insight on this when he listed his teams that he expects at Omaha next year. |

If I'm being a bit more objective, and it absolutely sickens me to admit this, but the attrition of Dave Serrano's pitching recruitment and development is starting to show. Who are the young arms that are going to rise up in future years? I'm not seeing it. |
