LB does have the most returners but only brought in four new players, one who won't play due to an injury.
LB is counting on the continued improvement of the returners. Can the newcomers make enough of a contribution? They should finish in the Top 4, if the non conf schedule doesn't destroy their confidence.

They have good talent coming in too, so it's pretty easy to see them (at worst) picking up where they left off. For the 8 spot, I expect to see a team like CSUF or UCD there. Both are teams that are projected to improve, but both were sub-.500 teams that lost very key players (Akognon and Oliver). If their new players don't pan out, they'll be in some trouble. |

Looking forward to see what they look like with the new recruits plus a healthy Darren Moore, who was expected to make a big contribution last year before he got hurt. |

I also think #8 is to low for UCI. With the return of Wise as well as the new recruits Derrick Flowers and Michael Wilder, I think those frosh will have some
impact minutes. JMHO

Based on the UCI non-conference schedule and the BWC team strength this year, my estimate for UCI wins is 14. Right around .500 again. 8th is too low and
4th is too high. I expect hem to finish somewhere between 5 th and 7th.

Funny that you should mention Darren Moore. I think that he really has been the "forgotten man" for UCI. There were times at the beginning of last
season that he looked like UCI's best player. He also had some stinkers. With that said, he at least showed the potential to be a good player for UCI.
In many ways, it seems like people have forgot about him. They indicate that UCI lost Bland and Lauer, and that they added Losonsky, Flowers, et al, but they
forget that he is coming back as well.
Aside from perhaps the center position, the performance of Darren Moore is UCI's biggest wild card going in to this season. If he ends up being a major factor, UCI will surprise some folks. |

I hardly think that losing to Duke, Kentucky, Texas and Notre Dame on the road will destroy any confidence for BW play. I don't care if they get blown out
by an average of 30 points. The way I see it, they will be looking to take it out on the BW more if they get blown out than pull off an impossible upset.

I gotta disagree with you on that statement DD. With athletes there's a thin line between having confidence and doubt. LBS is talented and deep, but their confidence can be shaken/shattered with several blow out loses. If things go wrong for them during a tight conference game, doubt will come before confidence. Likewise if they're on the road and get down by near or over double digits, negative thoughts will creep in. On the other hand if they lose all the games they're expected to lose but continue to play better and closer after each loss, IMO they'll be battle tested and confident come conference play. |

Based on their performance last year versus the D1 football guys, they did well, didn't win most, beat Temple, but stayed in all the games. I expect the
same this year. Last year their confidence was not shattered and I expect the same will hold true this year. I also expect, or hope, they enter the BWC
season with greater confidence than they had last year when they were mostly freshman and they have better talent all round this year. They will see that they
can play with the football guys. There may be a couple of 30 point burnouts, but I expect only a couple.
I'm in no way implying that they will run away with the BWC this year because most BWC teams are better than last year. Just saying their confidence will be there and they will play well in the BWC season barring unforeseen circumstances. |

If getting blown out by Kentucky in front of 23,000+ fans and a future hall of famer coach creates doubt at any time, shaken confidence or let's
negative thoughts creep in against SLO (no offense) in front of 900 fans (or any other team in the BW for that matter) then this LB team will seriously
disappoint. They already played the toughest ooc schedule last year with mostly freshmen starters and should be able to handle it, confidence wise for BW
play. With Donovan being hurt a lot last year, they got more playing time as a unit as well. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but I don't think so.

i respect your opinion and hope ya don't let TC dampen ya spirit. Hey you can learn a lot from a pick up game (AAU games have been called glorified pick
up games and thats how many, many kids earn a free ride) - I repeat ya gotta know what to look for...

Elaborate TC. You would make an awful prosecutor. Kinda like Joe Pesci in My Cousin Vinny in his "OPENING STATEMENT." Or are you like the second
attorney who is verbally challenged?
I'm all ears, TELL ME WHY YOU DISAGREE??? Or do I just get called a name because you can't think of anything? Allnetta, I didn't say anything negative about a pick up games, I JUST SAID I HATE THE CLICHE in reference to talking about The Say No Classic( a "GLORIFIED" pick up game) TC dampen my spirit? He is like sunshine on my shoulder. By the way, TC still owes me a beer when he took Cletus St. and I took North Carolina.... and he gave me 4 1/2 points.
