Though ASU ofcourse set themselves up with the easiest first round match. TCU should be a close match considering our non-conference road record has never
been impressive. Overall I'm pretty happy with the schedule. Some tough games including starting the season in Indiana mixed with some very winnable
games. So much depends on how we do on the Pre-season NIT so hard to predict a non-conference win/loss record, but after this past season I really don't
know how much to even care about our record in these games.

the big west twitter feed told me the reason our schedule was so late was because of the TWO mandatory furlough days last week that the athletics dept took,
but it wasnt like any of these games were a surprise so i am still at a loss to why it took so long.
Signing contracts with the opponents? Maybe for a few games but some opposition had us on their scheds weeks ago... oh well...bring on Cal Lutheran! 28. Here's what the tournament does to you: Before it's over, there will be a team you've never watched, coached by a guy you've never heard of, played by kids you'll never see in the NBA -- yet you'll be on your knees in front of your plasma rooting … begging like an alumnus for it to pull off the upset. -Gene Wojciechowski "33 Reasons to Love Tourney Time" |

Starting against TCU is pretty good news. If CSUN wins that first game but loses the second game (which undoubtably will be against ASU) then CSUN becomes the
host site for the following weekend of Pre-Season NIT games...of course I wish the team great success and hope that they go to Madison Square Gardens for the
NIT Finals.

NorRidgLum wrote: Reading the press release, I don't think CSUN can host any games, and will probably wind up being shipped to Western Kentucky for the consolation games (assuming we don't get to MSG). "The remaining 12 teams will play third-and-fourth games on the home campus sites of the highest remaining seeds. Participating teams will not play any team twice, and the third-and-fourth rounds will be assigned to the most geographically compatible site possible. " They only seeded the first 8 teams, and CSUN isn't one of them. So, assuming that the top 4 seeds (the home teams) all advance, that means the other game sites would be #5 Western Kentucky, #6 Hofstra, #7 TCU, and #8 Charlotte. Since you can't play the same team twice, we can't go to TCU. That leaves Western Kentucky as the closest geographic location for us. Now, if TCU were to beat us, then upset ASU in the west, we would stay at ASU, not having played them in the prelims. I think the only other location we might go to would be LSU, if WKU were to get the upset there.

Dang! It would've been pretty neat to be a host site. But it will be pretty cool if CSUN makes it to the finals.
