Member Posts: 1183 04/06/09 1:51 PM Cal St. Northridge	Remember this is the Bull Pit Spirit of the game award, not MVP or your personal favorite player. Townsend, Tony O, Josh Jenkins, Willie, Mels, Mark Hill, Kenny Daniels...... Damn, its hard to choose. My top 3 choices are Townsend, Mels and Josh. I am going with Josh. I think Josh plays with heart and passion which most resembles all of us die hard fans. Soon after he got out of the hospital, he showed up at games wearing red and cheered for his teammates. He's got my vote. I wish I could pick the whole team instead one individual because every one of them deserves it.

To be like that, takes a lot of courage and heart. Well there you go. For me, second would go to Melly Mels. Goodness, the guy was basically in the doghouse for most of his CSUN career. And when CSUN (not just Coach, all of us) needed him, guy stepped up BIG TIME. He didn't try to transfer or sulk or anything while he was riding the pine. And yes, it was right at the tail end of his career, but he showed what a baller he was and that JUCO national championship team he was on, was no joke. Third would be Willie Gallick. Guy had to suck his thumb at Pepperdine. He comes here and as a newbie and a junior he becomes one of the leaders on the team. Who does Bobby take with him during press conferences to deal with rough stuff? Josh? Rob? Willie. Shows me Coach relies on Willie as a mature leader on the team. Remember Rob came back from a broken nose and a concussion and missed only 1 game and really didn't look the same after that injury. Mels deserves the award because he played at a high level for 5 games his entire career. Doesn't justify it. JA

People can lobby who they want still, but if people are able to see every persons vote and count them it will give away who wins (even though I think this year will be a no brainer). Also who is buying the award and who should we give money too for helping to pay for it?
