CSUN Hockey wins 13th straight game

An 8-2 win over CSU Fullerton moves the Matadors to 13-1. They're the #3 team in the Pacific Division; their next home game is Saturday Dec. 12th against #6 Wyoming. As always, they'll be playing at the Valley Ice Center in Panorama City at 8:30 p.m.

The Matadors are ranked 24th in the NSCAA national poll, one spot behind UC Irvine. CSUN is 4th in the NSCAA Western Region poll, two spots ahead of UC Irvine.

CSUN is also ranked 24th in the Soccer Times poll and 24th in the College Soccer News.

How CSUN Soccer has fallen off the cliff. You guy used to devote a forum/section just for soccer and now they are part of the "other sports". But that is not the troubling part. CSN WBB Hires Assistant Coach

Pat Charity has been hired as assistant coach. She maybe a decent coach but I wouldn't hire anybody who worked for both Bollo's. Dallas was clueless as head coach at LB.

Rousey review coming

I spent 40 minutes with Mazzuto Friday, not nearly enough to outline all the reasons Rousey shouldn't be retained. Anyway, he said the review would take place beginning of this week. Only good news is that his contract is finally up, they actually stopped rolling it over for a change. Bad news is that the faculty reps doing his review have no interest in wins and losses, and have always given him good reviews based upon the team GPA and his capacity to raise a few bucks.

CSUN Track update: Total Domination!

It's my senior year and it was good to be on a team that went out like champions. For the third time since joining the conference and the 2nd time in 3 years the mens and womens track team won the big west championships and left no doubt. The men won by 40 and the women won by like 70 or something disgusting like that. We had a lot of people come through huge on both sides. Congrats to the ladies of Matador Pool, who finished 4-1 in conference play to finish in a three-way tie for first with UC Davis and UC Irvine. The Matadors earned the top seed in this weekend's Big West Tournament and will face UCSB or Pacific in the semifinals.

Wow in baseball Northridge won its series against #20 UCSB. When is the last time CSUN played a nationally ranked BW team in a series and won? This has to be the biggest series win for a program that has been down on its luck in quite some time.

Also the softball team sweeps UOP to make it 11 straight wins and start 3-0 in the Big West.

Ok we have talked about such efforts in the past. But how about we try to strike the iron while the iron is hot. Have a membership fee of $25 a year (or other rates for people who can give more) and try to help raise money for the men's bball program (like the titan hoops club). I live in DC and wouldn't be able to really see any benefits and don't have much money but even I'd do what I can to help. Get the club as an official club with the CSUN Alumni Association....

Northridge looks much better this year. Lost 2 of 3 last weekend to a top 20 P'dine team, with both losses over there, and have won the first two games against a Big XII team (Texas Tech) and going for the sweep today. Except for the midweek game against LMU (when pitching is like a box of chocolates......), Northridge's pitchers have been solid.

The Matadors come in ranked 6th in the ACHA Western Region (the top 2 teams in the region don't play in the regionals). They open against 7th-ranked Creighton Friday morning at 11 a.m. Iowa time (9 a.m. here?). There may be an audio webcast of the game at the site linked above.
